In partnership with postsecondary leaders across the state, the New Mexico Higher Education Department developed a statewide plan for reopening campuses. The document provides institutions with guidelines on how each campus can safely reopen in compliance with public health and executive orders.
The Higher Education Department recognizes that New Mexico’s colleges and universities differ in mission, location and governance structure, and one plan will not fit all institutions. Nonetheless, all institutional plans must address a common set of considerations that ensure adherence to public health and executive orders, embrace implementation of key mitigation strategies, and prepare institutions to respond should COVID-19 spread occur on campus.
This page is dedicated to ensuring public access to postsecondary reopening plans. Each has been reviewed by the Department utilizing the Spring Reopening Plan Rubric. Plans will receive one of three ratings:
- Red: Plan not submitted
- Yellow: Most criteria met
- Green: All criteria met
