New Mexicans will be able to earn a high school equivalency credential at no cost under legislation that was approved by the state Senate and concurred in the House on Saturday, March 22.
Students learned about New Mexico registered apprenticeships and other fast-track postsecondary credentialing opportunities by taking part in the biannual workforce development bus tour during National Apprenticeship Week.
The budget proposal also addresses New Mexico’s status as one of the nation’s worst states for adult literacy by dramatically increasing funding for adult education and adult literacy programs.
