Accessibility

The New Mexico Higher Education Department (NMHED) is committed to making its website accessible to all users and, so, we have included several features designed to improve accessibility. Some of these features are described below. We use various tools for site validation, including Functional Accessibility Evaluator, which is designed to identify barriers to accessibility in webpages.

Accessibility Support

  • Images on the site contain “alt tags” with descriptions of each image

  • Adobe PDF files can be viewed with Adobe Acrobat Reader (download a free version from http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/)

  • The latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader can read PDF files aloud

We welcome comments on how to improve the site's accessibility for users with disabilities. NMHED is committed to achieve an accessible website per national Section 508 standards.

If you encounter any document that you are not able to access, please contact us. To enable us to respond in a manner most helpful to you, please indicate the nature of the accessibility problem, the preferred file format in which to receive the material, the web address of the requested material, and your contact information.
