High School Equivalency Tests (GED® and HiSET®)
For additional information regarding how to register for either of the two approved high school equivalency exams at no cost select the exam below.
GED® Test
The GED® test includes four separate subject tests - Mathematical Reasoning, Reasoning Through Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science.
You must pass all four tests to receive your GED® credential.
To register for GED® tests, you will need to create an account online at GED.com (Please remember to save your GED ID, as you will need it to get your credential from Diploma Sender)
If taking the tests at a testing center, you are allowed to take the same subject test 3 times. You can retake it again after 60 days.
If taking the tests via remote proctoring, you are the take the same subject test 2 times. You can retake it again after 60 days.
GED® tests are available in both Spanish and English. You can choose which language you prefer in each subject test.
The GED® exams are administered in-person at an official GED® testing center, but online testing could also be available. (Availability of online testing is determined by Pearson VUE and may not be available to all test takers.)
HiSET Test
The HiSET is a standardized test created as an alternative to the GED. Like GED, HiSET is meant to help people who did not graduate from high school and would like to earn their HSE credential.
To register for HiSET tests, you will need to create an account online at HiSET.org. (Please remember to save your HiSET ID, as you will need it to get your credential on Diplomasender.com)
Once your registration is approved, you may sign up to take your tests at a testing center or with remote proctoring.
The HiSET includes a total of 5 subject tests. You must pass all five sections to get the credential. You don’t have to take each section of the test all at once or in any order.
HiSET tests are available in both Spanish and English. You can choose which language you prefer in each subject test.
You are allowed to take three subject exams per six months.
