Private postsecondary enrollment in New Mexico has grown 6% to reach 10,685 students as the New Mexico Higher Education Department completed state authorization renewal for 95 institutions for the 2026 academic year.

The New Mexico Higher Education Department’s (NMHED) Financial Aid division is experienced a temporary issue with its Financial Aid helpline phone number on August 13.

New Mexico has been selected as one of eight states to receive a College in High School Alliance (CHSA) grant aimed at expanding dual enrollment opportunities for high school students, particularly in rural and low-income communities.
